“ Trystan was just too fast in the fast sections ,” said Roman . “ We would all come together in the very technical , make different passes , but ultimately I got passed near the finish in what seems like he was pinned in 5th gear .”
“ The steep shale seemed to be my undoing ,” said Webb . “ My feet would slide out from under me when trying to plant for pivot turns and such . This would take me off my line taking away time . The three of us battled hard , and we were right together on the final major climb , but I just didn ’ t have enough to get it done today .”
Haaker would fall just short of a podium finish , finishing fourth on the day .
“ It was an awesome race and it felt good to ride 30 minutes from home with friends and family on-site cheering me on ,” Haaker said . “ I had a great start with the hole shot , which was a nice change ! Midway through , I found myself in fourth all alone and I kept it clean while pushing hard to catch the top three . I came up short for the podium but I was happy with my riding . There is always room for improvement , and I will keep pushing to get there !”
