HOW DO YOU TRAIN FOR THE TERRAIN THAT DOESN ' T NECESSARILY COME EASY TO YOU ? DO YOU STAY DOWN SOUTH DURING PART OF THE YEAR ?
I actually live down south now ; I have a house in North Carolina that I ’ m renting with my girlfriend .
I just been training down here actually with Kailub Russell ; he ' s my trainer now , so I ' ve been riding with him and trying to get used to more of the red clay dirt of the south and I feel like it ' s definitely helping .
HOW DID YOU FIND YOURSELF WITH KAILUB AS A TRAINER ?
I got on the factory GasGas team and then I had to pick a trainer ; my two choices were Charlie [ Mullins ] and Kailub . I was already kind of riding with Kailub and we already talked about it ; he helped me with the GasGas deal and stuff like that . Honestly , I went over to Kailub ' s house to ride for a couple days with my camper and never ended up leaving so it all just kind of fell in place so fast and weirdly . My girlfriend and Chandler , Kailub ' s wife , were driving up and down the road on the golf cart and she ' s like ' I don ' t think anyone ' s renting that house .' We literally looked at it that night and liked it and asked them how much . In two weeks , we were moved in so it was pretty crazy . I ' m like literally three or four houses down .
