DID YOU KNOW
CERVICAL SCREENING
HAS CHANGED?
More than 99% of
Cervical Cancer is
caused by HPV.
The Pap smear used to look for changes to cells
in the cervix while the new Cervical Screening Test
(CST) looks for the HPV which may lead to changes
to cells in the cervix. Although the new Cervical
Screening Test will still feel the same for you, it is
more accurate at detecting early stage HPV.
Cervical Screening via regular Cervical Screening
test (previously a pap test), is the most effective
of all cancer prevention programs. Early detection
prevents 90% of cervical cancers. It is important
to have cervical screening tests between the ages
of 25 and 74. If you are due for a screening test,
don’t put it off!
