The Coast’s Original Dad’s Hangout
There’s a great chance you’ve experienced
a fresh smell and a new sound in the
parks around the Central Coast – its fresh
barista coffee and terrible Dad jokes.
It’s usually by this stage, you realise
that somewhere between ten and thirty
Dads and their kids have taken over your
favourite park. It’s these dads that are
here to crush the negative stigma and
challenge the stereotypes associated with
being a proactive father. Meet the Central
Coast DILF Club – the Coast’s original
Dads hangout. What does DILF stand for?
‘Dad’s I’d Like to Friend’. Despite Google,
Urban Dictionary and Wikipedia outlining a
different use for the letter F, the acronym
comes from the group of ‘Friends’ that was
established when they kicked off the group
in September 2018; a bunch of Coastie
Dads that has grown to approximately
2,000 members in early November. The
group now runs 30 hangouts across
Australia in 6 different states – not bad for
a few coffee-drinking Dads in Terrigal.
Put simply, the Dads of DILF Club
support one another and share the Dadlife
experience. They occupy a closed, Dads-
only, facebook group where they connect
and share stories of dodgy nappy changes,
toddler tantrums and sleep deprivation. It’s
here you’ll find Dads sharing the ups and

downs of parenthood – the funny and the
stressful. They run several Dads hangouts
where like-minded self-proclaimed DILFs
can enjoy a hot frothie (coffee) and a
chinwag while the kids have a play.
Currently the DILF Club run 6 hangouts
in 4 different locations across the Central
Coast; Terrigal, Umina, Ourimbah and
Wyong. The #originalfrothers also get
together on a monthly basis for a night out;
kid-free and wife-free to let their thinning
hair down over a few ‘refreshments’ and
a feed. Professional athletes and public
figures who are also Dads often join
the DILF hospitality on these evenings
to provide inspiration for successfully
juggling the two titles! At a recent night
out, Central Coast Mariners Captain and
striker, Matt Simon, highlighted the real
struggles associated with life on the road
as a professional soccer player and being a
supportive Dad to two. It’s events like this
