Arlesey Memorial Floral Display
Yr 4 s day to Etonbury
On the 20th May Year 8 pupils went to Arlesey Memorial to place flowers
in respect of all soldiers that fought for our country in World War I and
World War II. Tyler Hanks, Amy Regan, Ellie Graham, Sinead Savoury and
Shayla Kirkham, were all involved in the floral display. Amy said “It was a
fun experience and I would like to do it again if I had the chance”. Tyler said,
“It was a good educational trip that has taught me a lot about our history of
people that lived in Arlesey and lost their lives in the Wars”. However there is
another opportunity for our Year 7 pupils to do the floral display when they go
up into Year 8. Shayla also added “It was a brilliant, fun hour which I’d happily
do again, as it taught me so much”. This trip helped these students realise the
amount of people that gave there lives for our country. This is another way of
Etonbury becoming involved with the local community.

Etonbury Farm Update – NEW residents at Etonbury Academy
We have three new arrivals to our farm. Three tiny pigs arrived last week and
are beginning to settle into life at Etonbury. They are quite playful and like a
good scratch. Our chickens started to lay last week and at the weekend we
had our first egg. We have blown the egg and it is now on display in the main
reception area. Some of the Year 8 students have been down to feed the pigs
and chickens and help muck them out. The Year 8 students have been working
hard to paint the piggery and get it ready for the new arrivals. The garden
area is beginning to take shape with raised beds being built over the half term
holiday. We have a shortage of top soil and bark chippings for the paths – if you
have anything that could be helpful please contact Mrs Turgoose via e mail:
