What’s Inspired Them
“You gain strength,
courage and
confidence by every
experience in which you
really stop to look fear
in the face... You must
do the thing you think
you cannot do.”
CHALLENGING
ESTABLISHED THOUGHT
Eleanor roosevelt
Esther Duflo for her passion, and an openminded, inquisitive approach to improve the lives
of the poor. She has been able to successfully
challenge common perceptions, and prove which
interventions work most effectively. In Kenya and
India she instigated trials proving that treating
intestinal worms is the most effective way to
reduce school absenteeism.
COLLABORATIVE
CONSUMPTION
Rachel Botsman and her championing of
‘collaborative consumption’, a new socioeconomic concept which is set to turn the way
we consume on its head; allowing people to
“create value out of shared and open resources
in ways that balance personal self-interest with
the good of the larger community”.
“All boundaries are conventions
waiting to be transcended. One may
transcend any convention if only one
can first conceive of doing so.”
“THE CREATIVE ADULT IS THE
CHILD WHO SURVIVED.”
David Mitchell
