Dr. Paulina Reiban has been in
practice for just over a year and a half and
has already discovered what many more
seasoned chiropractors have learned: the
potential market for chiropractic care is
huge. That is why she focuses her volunteer
work on demonstrating how chiropractic
care can help Ontarians live healthy, active
lives.
Dr. Reiban offers Workplace Health
and Safety presentations to employees of
local businesses on MSK disorders and ways
to reduce time loss at work. She observes
that by engaging with managers, supervisors
and executives, chiropractors not only
attract patients to the profession, but can
also expand access to care. “As leaders
become more aware of our services and
expertise, they are more likely to encourage
the inclusion of chiropractic services within
the extended health care benefits that their
companies provide.”
I
n addition to reaching members
of the public with the message of
chiropractic care, it is important
to reach stakeholders as well. From
community activists to health charities
to other health care professionals, there
are many opportunities to promote the
profession and its many benefits. Dr. Jenna
MacFarlane, a 2009 CMCC graduate, has
focussed her outreach work in the area of
stakeholder engagement.
