Thank You! In May 2018, One Mission Society reported on the tragic plane crash in Havana, Cuba, that claimed the lives of 110 people, including 20 members (10 pastoral couples) of an OMS partner denomination. Many OMS donors stepped up and generously gave to meet immediate needs such as funeral costs and long-term needs like caring for the orphaned children. Thank you! Because of your generosity, all 15 children were placed in homes with grandparents, uncles and aunts, and extended families. Here are a few ways that your generous gifts made a difference … • Church leaders purchased a small house for three of the children, Dario, David, and Daniel, to assist the adopting grandparents to have sufficient space. • They also set up a fund for ongoing medical bill assis- tance for the children and scholarships for the youth to attend universities. Dario had a major medical issue, but thankfully, the funds were available to help. • An ongoing fund was started to assist with purchas- ing food and school supplies for the children. • A special Christmas celebration was held for the surviving children in December 2018. It provided an opportunity to celebrate the children and bless them in the midst of missing their parents at Christmastime. The congregations in the eastern district who lost their pas- tors trained new men and women called by God to assume the responsibilities of leading these congregations. The church members are growing in their walks with the Lord. Our ministry partners in Cuba, along with the children and youth blessed by your generosity, want to thank each do- nor for your prayers and financial support and for the love you showed to the Cuban people. 13
