In
Memoriam
In 2015, One Mission Society lost several beloved missionaries. We now honor and
remember those OMS missionaries who served with distinction for 10 years or more.
Margaret Bonnette served the Lord in Haiti for 22 years as a
missionary nurse after her husband Virgil died and her daughter was in
college. Margaret loved consulting patients and delivering babies at the
Bethesda Medical Clinic and eventually traveled to the remote areas of
Haiti to reach out with both medical assistance and the Gospel.
Jeanne Capin served with her husband Dick in South Korea for two
years at the request of OMS leadership. They filled a critical role, relieving
a missionary who needed a furlough. After their two years in Korea, the
family returned to California, where Dick and Jeanne served at the OMS
World Headquarters.
Sheila Doty began working at the OMS World Headquarters in 1973
as a cashier and in Accounts Payable. Over the course of her 42 years of
service, she served in a variety of roles, including secretary, vice president
of Administration, and, most recently, corporate secretary.
Ed Fiorenza and his wife Erica arrived in Colombia in 1971. For 16
years, Ed ministered in many Colombian churches and held a vital role in
radio programming, sharing correspondence courses, Bible studies, and
sermons. During retirement, Ed served with OMS again for several years,
raising the awareness of OMS seminaries worldwide and the need for
student scholarships.
