OMS Global Impact Report 2024-2025 | Page 3

After fishing all night and having no success, Simon Peter was instructed by Jesus to let the nets down into the deep once more. When Jesus provided him with a miraculous catch of fish, he faced a new problem: how to bring them in. He quickly realized that fruitless fishing can be done alone, but a fruitful catch requires significant help. He called for coworkers and an additional boat.
In Matthew 13, Jesus tells a parable about a fisherman using a dragnet to catch fish. The net was filled with all kinds of fish, and the fisherman went about separating good fish from bad. Jesus says this is what the angels will do to separate the wicked from the just. The Gospel message will draw many into the net, but the work is incomplete.
That’ s why we seek to make disciples, not just converts. We work to multiply churches that continue casting the net, develop leaders through training and education, and equip those leaders to faithfully multiply new disciples, leaders, churches, and missionaries.
At One Mission Society, we’ ve seen God’ s faithfulness in providing fruitful fishing in the kingdom work he has entrusted to us. We celebrate full nets with grateful hearts, but we also recognize that fruitfulness demands more hands on the nets and more boats in the sea.
In this Global Impact Report, you’ ll read of God’ s faithfulness and see the many hands( including yours) on the nets that make this possible.
Blessings,
Chris Williams Executive Director of Global Ministries
