The image of bulging nets calls us to remember— remember not only the miracle on the water, but also the One who stood on the shore, the One who commanded and was obeyed.
This past year, we at One Mission Society have once again witnessed Jesus’ presence and power. He has filled our efforts with more fruit than we could carry alone. This is not work we do alone as we obey the Great Commission; God is filling the nets— often through the faithful partnership of others.
In Luke’ s account, the bursting net required help from others. In the same way, we work together today— united( John 17)— by sending, supporting, praying, and encouraging. Each hand on the rope, each voice lifted in prayer, and each gift given in faith is part of the miracle.
Across the nations, the Gospel has gone forth— sometimes quietly, sometimes through tears, always in faith. And God, in his mercy, has brought the increase. Not every full net is measured in numbers. Often, it’ s found in hidden victories: a hardened heart softened by grace, a weary worker renewed through prayer, an eager trainer who understands the power of multiplication by mentoring others.
The true measure of our abundance is not in what we’ ve gathered, but in whom God has shown himself to be— faithful, present, and sufficient.
Our nets are full only because we obeyed the One who stood on the shore and said,“ Let down your nets.” We celebrate God’ s faithfulness— and yours.
Thank you. To God be the glory.
