OMG Digital Magazine | 336 | Thursday 20 December 2018 • PAGE 5 Everyone walks so god damn slow it annoys me every day. Confessions WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOUTUBE REWIND? WHY IS IT SO HATED? So I just watched the 2018 YouTube rewind video. I mean, it's a little cringy and I didn't personally know many of the featured "stars", but why the extreme disparity between likes and dislikes, and the overwhelming negativity in the comments? I didn't find it that offensive at all, or at least not to any extremes. The production was pretty solid, some of the skits were ok, and some were even slightly better than most of the other terrible stuff on there. Personally, I didn't know them because I don't watch a huge amount of YouTube. I also didn't know most of the people who people were complaining about not being on there. Overall, it wasn't what I'd call great, but it certainly wasn't that bad. Am I missing something? So, how can anyone rationality explain the intense hate? Like you know when you are faster than them but not being able to pass them as you walk a little bit faster which will be akward but if you go faster than normal its also weird? I just don't get why people walk so damn slow they take like 5 minutes to walk 10 meters its very annoying so please walk faster. Also don't forget the people who stop walking for no damn reason they need to rot in the worst place in hell lol MY GRANDPA REALIZED HE WAS HAVING A STROKE AND GAVE MY GRANDMA A HUGE HUG RIGHT BEFORE HE DIED. I'm sorry if this is not the right subreddit for this story. It's pretty upsetting, but incredibly sweet when you think about it. My grandpa had a major left-sided hemorrhagic stroke, and the first thing that he lost was his ability to speak and fine motor skills, as my grandma knew she needed to call 911 when she realized he was unable to bring a glass of water up to his mouth. She said that before she did so, my grandpa pulled her into his lap and gave her the tightest hug ever. Soon after, he closed his eyes and never opened them again (he remained on life support for a couple days, but it was a massive bleed and the doctors determined that all of his cognition was pretty much gone, and he had an advance directive not to be kept alive in such a situation.) He was an amazing and selfless man, and in such a terrifying situation that he found himself rapidly declining in his ability to speak and perform basic functions, I am in awe that the first (and last) thing he wanted was to do his best to let my grandma know how much she meant to him. They were married for almost 60 years. “SO LONG, PARTNER”? Do you ever drive in the highway for a few hours and another car is in front or behind you going the same speed and when you or they finally go through an exit, you're just like "So long, partner”? I drive 2 hours in the highway every few weeks and whenever I drive, there is always a car that I follow or they follow me and we never pass each other. When they finally go through an exit or I do, it feels like I just made a friend and makes me sad. Don't know if anyone does this or if it's just me.
