BOARD INSTALLED
A new board for the North East Protected Area
Management Trust was recently appointed.
They received their instruments of appointment at
the conference room of the Division of Infrastructure,
Quarries and the Environment on Monday (February
19) at Shaw Park. The board will be chaired by Claire
Davidson-Williams.
The board was established to improve the
management of Tobago’s north east protected areas. In
addition the Trust will be the custodian of such natural
assets in north east Tobago, including the Main Ridge
Forest Reserve.
Currently, the island is seeking to have the Main Ridge
become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which will
afford the rainforest and surrounding areas greater
environmental protection.
