50 ENROLLED IN
Y.E.S.
PROGRAMME
Fifty young Tobagonians will earn valuable work experience through the Youth
Energized for Success (Y.E.S.) Programme, as its Annual Summer Internship
initiative began yesterday (July 5) at the Division of Finance and the Economy.
Over the July/August vacation period, interns from both secondary and tertiary
level schools have the chance to work in various fields across the Tobago House
of Assembly Divisions, as well as private sector organisations.
They have been matched according to their career interests and areas of study.
Orientation for the young participants took place on Tuesday and Wednesday
(July 4-5), and they attended sessions on life skills, such as goal setting,
understanding self and life choices. The sessions were facilitated by consultant
Lisa Beckles.
Participants will also learn about financial management, entrepreneurship,
communication and presentation skills and community service through
volunteerism.
