Vice President Communiqué | July 10, 2014 STRATEGIC PLAN When I visited each area to discuss the new Old Dominion University strategic plan, I outlined four draft strategic goals. After reviewing feedback from across the university, the plan has been modified to include a fifth goal. This additional goal will allow the university to fully address entrepreneurism and economic development. More detail about the university strategic plan will be coming in the fall semester. 1. Enhance our reputation for academic and research excellence 2. Support student success from first point of contact through graduation and beyond 3. Enrich the quality of university life 4. Engage in the greater community 5. Build a culture of entrepreneurism and economic development NEW ADMISSION OPTIONS • As part of a two-year pilot, the incoming 2015 class will have the option to opt out of submitting SAT and ACT scores if their weighted, cumulative high school GPAs are at minimum a 3.3. • Students who wish to compete for academic scholarships or qualify for NCAA must still submit ACT/SAT scores even though their admission decision can be test optional. Thank you for all you do for our students and the University Community.
