An Ode to the Ramada
Julia Dean, OJCL Parliamentarian,
Summit Country Day
As many of you know, the OJCL Convention used
to be held at a crusty hotel called the Ramada, located
in Columbus. Unfortunately, years ago, extensive
mold and structural issues were found when the walls
of the Ramada collapsed, forcing the OJCL to
relocate. My first memories of this organization took
place in the stinky rooms of this hotel. I still get
nostalgic sometimes thinking about the storied halls
of the Ramada, the true OG, where so much of the
history of our wonderful organization occurred, so I
was inspired to write this short acrostic poem to the
Ramada. Gone but never forgotten.
