WE ARE ALL WEALTHY

Nardia Norman reminds us there is more to wealth than money !

H far ? I have been loving the warm
( read – HOT ) Sydney weather ! Moving to the beach was one of THE best decisions I made last year ; I love that I can jump in the water whenever I want to , or put my toes in the sand ( my hair does not love it though – it kinda resembles a birds nest most days !).
I am ridiculously grateful for where I live . In fact I am full of gratitude of late because , well , life .
My girlfriend and I were chatting over margaritas the other day and we were commenting on how amazing life is . In fact , we were both expressing our grattitude for how wealthy we are . Do I have a million dollars in my bank account ? Nope . Do I wear designer clothes ? Double nope .
Whilst I am not financially wealthy in the conventional sense ( e . g . millions of dollars in my bank account ) I am truly wealthy and rich because I get to see the sun rise every morning and know that I am going to have plenty of food to eat that day . I wake up in my cushy , clean bed and go into my kitchen and make a coffee in my expensive coffee maker . I can connect with you and other people who are located all around the world via my smartphone and computer .
I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world and I never have to fear for my safety or fight for my right for education . I work from home and get to create on a daily basis . Seriously , when I think about my life I can only feel amazed and blessed .
Now I ’ m not sharing this to brag ; rather , I want you to know how fortunate and grateful I am to be this wealthy . To me wealth encompasses health , education , freedom , finances and relationships – my life right now has a great balance between all of these areas and I try to never take this for granted .
Last year I added a simple practice into my morning routine and it really helped me focus on the things that matter . It takes just three minutes every morning and the effect has been profound . As soon as I wake up I do the following :
1 . Think about three things I am grateful for . 2 . Decide how I want to feel that day . 3 . Identify what my intention is for the day .
Cultivating an attitude of gratitude has been a game-changer for me and if you are wanting to add something influential in your life this year , then I highly recommend the above practice .
Also , something else I am grateful for are my books . I am a total book nerd – reading is one of my favourite things to do . Last year I decided to record all the books I read , just for interest ’ s sake , and as it turns out I actually have a decent reading list .
