6 TIPS TO AVOID
OVER-INDULGING
Entrepreneur, wellness expert and CEO and founder of Slim Secrets, Sharon
Thurin shares her tips for enjoying the festive season without over-indulging.
o avoid entering the new year with
an over-indulgence hangover, heed
these tips to keeping things on a more
calm and even keel this Christmas.

1. Always enter a room with a smile
Not only does it relax you and put you in
a happy mood, it also sends out a positive
image to everyone in the room.
3. Be selective 5. Bring a healthy plate
Life is not about denying yourself the
opportunity to enjoy good food and good
times but you don’t have to attend every
party you’re invited to and stay until the
end. Embrace JOMO - you may be
pleasantly surprised in how enjoyable
simplifying your life can be. If it’s a BYO affair, then bring a healthy
share plate with you – its always easier to
eat well when you know there will be
some kickass homemade tzatziki dip on
the table!
4. Exercise Because when you do, you’re more likely
to over-indulge. Take a portable snack
with you like a snack bar, cookie, some
protein balls, or a shake or pudding from
the Slim Secrets’ range.
2. Make mineral water your best friend
It keeps your head clear, contains zero
calories and its still full of bubbles! A
120ml glass of champagne has 91
calories; 2 glasses of champagne = a
half-hour run on the treadmill. Water
never goes out of style.

Don’t let all your hard work during the
year go to waste. It’s easy to let the
exercise slip during this busy time of the
year; however, moving more helps
counterbalance the extra kilojoules you
are likely to consume – it’s all about the
debits and credits!
6. Never go to a party feeling hungry
