" Phra Suphat Bophit " comprises a pair of Buddha images situated in Buriram , containing relics within their heads . This is enshrined atop Khao Fai Kradong . One of the images is a large brick-covered Buddha , measuring 12 meters across the lap and 14 meters in base length , facing north . Constructed in 1969 through collaborative efforts , including the governor of Buriram Province at the time , Mr . Surawut Bunyanusas , along with merchants and faithful individuals driven by the vision and initiative of Reverend Father Bunma Panyapachoto , the former abbot of Wat Khao Kradong . The construction was intended to establish a center of devotion for Buddhists in general . The elevated location of the Buddha images offers a panoramic view of the city of Buriram .
