Coding classes update
Our coding trial has
branched into robotics,
featuring a Sphero device.
Children learn to navigate
the Sphero through a course,
by instructing the robot where
to move. During the trial, the
classes are held on weekends
at selected stores.
Round Up to Make a Difference
Round Up to Make a Difference is a new initiative which was
trialled over three weeks in May. Customers were asked if they
would like to round up the cost of their purchase to the nearest
dollar, with all proceeds being donated to a local community
group, selected by the store team.
Officeworks Mona Vale (NSW), Aspley (Qld), Maroochydore (Qld)
and Osborne Park (WA) participated in the trial and together
raised more than $5,000. The money raised will help make bigger
things happen in different ways for each community.
• The donations from the
Mona Vale team’s Round Up
to Make a Difference program
went towards preserving
the natural environment of
Bungan, including its local
native vegetation and
beach. The Mona Vale team
chose this group as they live
in the area and often utilise
the nearby beach for hobbies
such as surfing and exercising.
• With more than 550 players
and a membership base in
more than 500 households,
North Star Soccer Club plays
a significant role in promoting
health and fitness within
the Aspley community. The
money raised will go towards
key facilities, equipment and
field maintenance. Team
Members from the store
have an existing relationship
with the club and are often
d own at the field cheering
the players on.
• The Daniel Morcombe
Foundation exists to provide
education to children
about personal safety. This
is achieved through funding
and developing child safety
educational resources, as
well as assisting young victims
of crime. The money raised
from Maroochydore’s efforts
will help make the local
community a safer place
for children.
• Headspace is a Youth
Mental Health Foundation
providing early intervention
mental health services to
12-25 year olds. The money
raised from the Osborne
Park Round Up to Make
a Difference program will
contribute to running services
in the local Osborne Park
area including counselling,
youth programs and
employment & study support.
Thank you to all Team
Members who were
involved in the trial.
