Dee Why do their bit
Manly Warringah Women’s Resource Centre
(MWWRC) is a not for profit community-
based service, providing integrated services
and support to vulnerable women, children
and families. As a holistic provider of
services to women, children and families
in crisis, the centre runs 24 courses per year
that impact the lives, wellbeing and security
of women, children and families in the local
Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore
Communities.
MWWRC operates two refuges; Bringa
Women and Children’s Refuge (Northern
Beaches) and Delvena Women and
Children’s Refuge (Lower North Shore), as
well as transitional housing and Northern
Beaches Family Support Service. Together
the refuges accommodate eleven families,
that is eleven mothers and their children,
at any one time. In 2016, Manly Warringah
Women’s Resource Centre supported more
than 350 women and children across their
services.
To assist in facilitating these educational
and therapeutic programs, Officeworks Dee
Why (NSW) Store Business Manager Brad
was more than happy to help by donating
some much-needed AV equipment in May.
The donation of the AV equipment will be
used to assist the centre to facilitate courses
available to the community and people
in crisis in a more efficient and productive
manner than their previous option of
printouts and whiteboards.
Perth CFC helping
disadvantaged locals
The team at the Perth CFC, work with their local
Salvation Army to provide food to these in need.
A Team Member, Glen, approached the CFC and
explained his father did volunteer work at the Swan City
Youth Service in conjunction with the Men’s Shed and
asked if they could send some of the produce to them.
The CFC are now going to alternate donations between
the Salvation Army and the Swan City Youth Service.
