In-store Fleur and Adam. For so many of the team, it’s the beginning of their journey at Officeworks, and we look forward to supporting them build their careers with us in the future. To celebrate the store opening and demonstrate its ongoing commitment to making a positive difference in the local community, Officeworks Mentone donated $2000 each to six deserving local community groups – Mentone Primary School, Southern Autistic School, Mentone Park Primary School, Compass Community Care, Mentone Pre-School and Bayside Special Development School. The community groups were invited to the Official Ceremony on 22 March to receive their donation, and speak about what the funds were going to be used for. As well as receiving a donation, Mentone Primary School also made their student choir available on the day to provide the soundtrack for the special occasion. The ceremony was also the first time we presented a store with a plaque created by Indigenous artist Jeremy Donovan, demonstrating that as a business, we value our history and our Indigenous culture. Customers turned out in their thousands on the Grand Opening on 23 March which involved lots of fun activities for families including tech demos, art workshops, games, giveaways, a DJ, jumping castle, children’s entertainers, face painting, community BBQ and lots more. There was a great vibe in the store on the day, and we hope that vibe continues long into the future.
