Stacy Johnson is the owner of Studio 7 dance as well as a licensed professional counselor. This is her story about opening Studio 7 and how dance and mental health can go hand in hand.
Q: Why did you decide to start Studio 7?
A: Studio 7 was a vision in my heart for many years before God provided the opportunity for us to open those dance stores. Primarily, Studio 7 was started as a way to bring about positive discipleship for young girls through mentoring from dance teachers. As a dance studio we also wanted to provide a way to give dancers the opportunity to pursue their passions without concern for questionable dance attire or lyrics, while also not being a strictly Christian atmosphere – so that we can reach more families through the ministry of dance. We also aim to provide a space that God can use many formats to empower, educate, and encourage not only children but adults to dance.
