6:Memorization-
A very important piece to spoken word is memorizing the poem. This is a very important part of the process because if you can get it memorized to perfection than there is no chance of mistakes which leads to a more confident delivery of your poem.
7: Tone-
This is the the part where you decide how you want the audience to feel when they hear you perform. Some performances require a very strong and bold performance but some poems sound better when they are delivered with a timid tone and mood. You just have to figure out what tone your poem is.
8: Edit peformance-
Just like a poem, a performance is never perfect, it just gets better. You have to get to know your poem and performance and figure out every tiny aspect of it. You have to know how long the pauses are and where to get louder or quieter. Not only do you have to memorize the poem but also the performance.
9: Practice-
You know what they say, practice makes perfect. This is very true when it comes to a spoken word. Your spoken word should be in your blood when you are done practicing. It should be muscle memory.
10: Confident
performance-
If you followed all of these steps this should be no problem. Just make sure you are loud enough for the audience.
