life on the field:
Soccer became a sport on December 19, 1863, in London; the game ended with a tie of 0. Although nobody won, the two team made history that day. Once everyone started playing this sport, they couldn't stop! Today it is the world's most popular sport. So, how did it grow from London to around the world? The sport first began in England and quickly spread to many countries. When the pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock in 1620, the Indians were playing a similar version. Two hundred years later, the U.S. started to play the form of soccer we know today. However, the rules were bendable and often changed. On December 19, 1863, the first women's soccer game was played, which was also held in London and tied at 0. For some odd reson, important soccer games tend to start in London. At first, the U.S. played soccer casually and for fun, but in 1967 two soccer teams were developed and merged, becoming the American soccer team. The team's name was USMNT: the United States Men's National Soccer Team. At the time, women had not played or participated in soccer quite yet.
As you may know the Fifa World Cup is played every four years. There are many teams but that doesn't mean a team willplay every time the Cup is held. But Brazil has played in the mall; they have also won five times. The most that any other team
has won is four times.
The World Cup is
