Aliens, Defiance)
leads proceedings
in his fourth outing as
everyone’s favourite spy, James
Bond (just in case you weren’t
sure who we were talking
about!). DC has found great
favour in the role thanks to his
equal measures of classic
British charm and aptitude for
action. And then there’s
Christoph Waltz, who’s stolen
every film he’s been in since
his jaw-dropping turn as
Colonel Hans Landa in
Quentin Tarantino’s
Inglourious Basterds. Here he
plays Franz Oberhauser, who
is strongly rumoured to be
Bond’s most famous nemesis,
Ernst Stavro Blofeld (despite
everyone near to the film
denying it). Blofeld, don’t
forget, is the head of the evil
organisation, SPECTRE
(hence the film’s title).
All of which lines up a
showdown between two
fiercely opposing sides, in the
direct aftermath of the attack
on MI6 we saw during Skyfall.
Bond receives a cryptic
message that sets in motion a
series of events to take him on
a trail across the world,
through Mexico, Austria and
Morocco. Eventually bringing
him face-to-face with
SPECTRE and an enemy from
his past. An enemy who holds
a dangerous secret that forces
007 to question everything
he’s fought to protect.
This film promises to be
a huge triumph – and we
can’t wait!
Origin stories are all the rage
at the moment, and frankly
we’re delighted about it!
This one, as the name
suggests, looks at the untold
back story of Peter Pan –
played by newcomer Levi
Miller – and it’s a fairy tale in
itself. We also get to meet other
Neverland favourites, with
James Hook (Garrett Hedlund
– Unbroken, Tron) and Tiger
Lily (Rooney Mara – The
Social Network, Her) making
appearances. But without
doubt, the scene stealer award
has to go to to Blackbeard
himself, played by an almost
unrecognisable Hugh
‘Wolverine’ Jackman!
In this prequel to JM
Barrie’s famous book, we
follow the young Peter as he’s
kidnapped from a London
orphanage and spirited away
to his Neverland home. While
he’s there he discovers both fun
and danger, and learns how to
become the hero we all know
and love – the boy who is
forever known as Peter Pan.
