Taking on board fan feedback to that movie , which left many viewers puzzled by both the unanswered questions and the lack of Xenomorph action , Scott has retained Prometheus ’ epic scope and scale , but significantly boosted the horror ( Prometheus was a 15 , Covenant will likely be an 18 ). “ When the gloves are off and it ’ s 18 or R-rated , then you can make the movie exactly what you want ,” explained special effects supervisor Neil Corbould to the movie website Collider . “ Everyone said they wanted more aliens , they wanted more horror ... and I think you ’ re going to get that !” s a prequel to this film ) and Gross encounters … Led by James Franco ’ s Captain Branson , the plot sees the crew of the Covenant spaceship touching down on a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy . Quickly followed by blood , blood and more blood – the crew reportedly got through more than 1,000 litres during principal photography – then a heck of a lot of dying . “ It ’ s much scarier than Prometheus ,” confessed star Michael Fassbender , who reprises his role as the android David in the film , as well as playing a new robotic character called Walter ( see right for more info on the Covenant crew ). “ Once the ball starts rolling , it doesn ’ t let up . It ’ s really going to bring chills to the cinema !”
