Watch the trailer Having failed to save the day, Gru is unceremoniously fired by the AVL – cue lots of moping around in his not-at-all-fetching dressing gown! If unemployment wasn’t bad enough, Gru’s life is plunged into further chaos when a well-spoken, elderly gentleman turns up at his front door and extends an invitation from his twin brother Dru – a long-lost sibling Gru didn’t even know he had! Dru proves to be everything that Gru is not: he’s filthy rich, lives on his own private island, has a way with the ladies and, oh yes, boasts a full head of hair. But the golden-locked lothario has an ulterior motive for inviting Gru, Lucy and the girls to his gadget- packed mansion. Telling Gru that villainy is in his blood, Dru asks his brother is he’s ready to continue the family tradition by teaming up with him for “just one heist”! Will Dru persuade Gru to return to his nefarious ways? Will Balthazar Bratt get his much-deserved comeuppance? Will little Agnes have to sell all her beloved toys to support her jobless dad? Starring – rather deliciously – Steve Carell in the dual role of Gru and Dru, Kristen Wiig as the voice of lovely Lucy and South Park co-creator Trey Parker as Balthazar Bratt, Despicable Me 3 looks set to continue the franchise tradition of destroying all before it at the UK box office – supervillain-style! We’ll leave the last word to little Nev Scharrel, who has replaced Elsie Fisher as the voice of Agnes in the film. In an impossibly cute interview with the Pop Star! website, the young actress revealed why everyone should go and see Despicable Me 3: “Well, I know for a fact Agnes has a lot of really funny lines and I’m guessing the other characters are going to have lots of laughs too. There’s new characters and if you like the old characters, then they’re still there!”
