incredulous Owen
Grady (Guardians Of The
Galaxy star Chris Pratt) as he’s
shown the latest, reptilian
resident of the dino-theme park
Jurassic World. “Probably not a
good idea…”
He’s not wrong, as we will
discover when Jurassic World
hits cinemas on 12 June. Set 22
years after the original Steven
Spielberg film – which was
released in 1993 and quickly

became one of the most popular
films of all time – the story picks
up with the park now open to
the public after a series of
disasters (who could forget the
sad demise of that poor chap
hiding from the T-rex in the loo,
eh?). The park is now a huge hit,
attracting people from all
around the world to Isla Nublar
to see the dinosaurs of a bygone
age, but attendance is starting to
flag and the place needs
something new. Cue one
Indominus Rex: a hybrid
dinosaur created by scientists.
“The gaps in her sequence were
filled with DNA from other
species,” explains director Colin
Trevorrow of this fearsome new
beast. “This creation exists to
fulfil a corporate mandate; they
want something bigger, louder,
with more teeth. And that’s what
they get.”
This new dinosaur soon
decides that humans look pretty
tasty and a mighty battle ensues
– expect carnosaur carnage as
the Indominus and
Tyrannosaurus battle for
dominance! We can’t wait.
