he last time Jonah Hill
and James Franco
teamed up to make a
film, the result was the
hilarious apocalyptic comedy
This Is The End. This time,
however, the actors – who have
three Oscar nominations for
serious acting roles between
them – play it as straight as
possible in True Story. Based
on – yes, you guessed it – a true
story, this is an exploration of
the mind of Christian Longo
(Franco), who ended up on the
FBI’s ‘ten most wanted’ list
after killing his family.
While on the run, he
impersonated the disgraced
New York Times journalist
Michael Finkel (Hill), then
contacted Finkel after his
capture. Fascinated, Finkel
strikes up an uneasy partnership
with the murderer as he tries
to understand why the killer
was impersonating him, and
whether he really did commit
the crime of which he stands
accused. Get ready for intense!
Based on Finkel’s memoir,
True Story co-stars Felicity
Jones and opens on 24 July.

Milla Jovovich does a runner from Pierce Brosnan
You’d think that trying to
stop a large-scale terrorist
attack from hitting New
York’s Times Square on New
Year’s Eve would be hard
enough, let alone when
you’re on the run for crimes
you didn’t commit. But that’s
the situation which Milla

Jovovich (The Fifth Element)
finds herself in with this
action thriller. Posted to an
American embassy in
London, she quickly becomes
the target of some very bad
people, and finds Pierce
Brosnan on her tail. Quick
Milla, run!
