What was the last film
you saw at ODEON?
Avengers: Infinity War.
It completely lived up
to my expectations and
I can’t wait for Part II.
Venom is one of Marvel’s most enigmatic creations. If
anyone can do the alien symbiote justice, it’s Tom Hardy
Voted 33rd in Empire’s
‘50 Greatest Comic Book
Characters’, Venom is one of
the most intriguing players in
the Marvel universe. Making
its first full appearance in issue
#300 of The Amazing Spider-
Man, the amorphous alien
symbiote became one of
Spidey’s most nefarious foes,
bonding with several human
hosts. Over the years, though,
the character has become
a Deadpool-style anti-hero.
With so much back story
to play with, we literally
jumped for joy when we heard
that the symbiote was getting
its own adults-only, big-
screen movie (the first film
in Sony’s Marvel Universe).
And that joy turned to grateful
ugly crying when we found
out that Tom Hardy had been
cast in the role of Eddie Brock
(Venom’s original human host).
Following stellar turns
in the likes of Dunkirk and
The Revenant, it’s hard to
think of a more in-demand
actor right now than Hardy
and, if the teaser trailer
for the film is anything to
go by, he’s going to blow our
minds as Brock/Venom. But
don’t just take our word for it...
“It’s like a masterclass
watching Tom act every day,”
said Venom producer Matthew
Tolmach recently. Told ya!
