Don’t worry folks, he’s armless really... Watch the trailer The LEGO Ninjago Movie TBC Six gifted young ninjas must protect their island home from an evil dark lord... DIRECTORs Charlie Bean, Paul Fisher VOICES Jackie Chan, Dave Franco, Olivia Munn Following hot on the heels of the massively successful The LEGO Batman Movie (which was released in February this year), The LEGO Ninjago Movie takes the lesser-known but still hugely popular Ninjago toys and makes an entertaining and exciting family adventure out of them. As with The LEGO Batman Movie and the 2014 The LEGO Movie before it, the film’s vocal cast is outstanding. Jackie Chan plays wise Sensei Wu (pictured right above), while Justin Theroux is the nefarious four-armed baddie Garmadon (also pictured SPINNING OUT 13 OCT Introduced in late 2010, LEGO Ninjago is one of LEGO’s most popular properties with 22 building sets and its own TV series – LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu – which you can catch on Cartoon Network. Spinjitzu is a close-combat martial arts technique that involves, er, spinning around! above). With a screenplay by no less than 12 writers (a team effort if ever there was one), the plot sees our six young ninja heroes – Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane, Lloyd and Nya – attempting to defend their island home of Ninjago from Garmadon’s dark forces. But there’s a twist in the tale: Lloyd (AKA the Green Ninja) is Garmadon’s son! The big meanie deserted him when he was a baby. Boo hiss. Easily as witty as the first two LEGO outings, with some truly breathtaking animation, this is an epic, for-the-ages, laugh-out-loud-funny tale that deserves a sequel of its own in a year or two. It’s time to ‘find the ninja within ya’. Go team! odeon.co.uk 29
