Donald Crowhurst in this riveting biopic

This absorbing drama recounts the true
story of British amateur yachtsman
Donald Crowhurst who, in 1968,
entered The Sunday Times Golden Globe Race.
During the early stages of this roundthe-world contest, Crowhurst experienced
difficulties and abandoned the competition,
but continued to report his position as if he was
still taking part. In other words, he cheated.
Starring Colin Firth as Crowhurst and Rachel
Weisz as his wife Clare, this fascinating biopic
explores Crowhurst’s mindset – he was in
serious debt at the time – as well as the
devastating consequences of his actions.

M. Night Shyamalan writes and directs
this oh-so-clever horror/thriller about
a man called Kevin who has at least
23 different personalities including a nineyear-old boy and a Norma Bates-type figure.
Following a birthday party, Kevin kidnaps
three teenage girls and keeps them captive in his
basement for a purpose that’s initially unclear
– we just know that it’s very bad and that it
involves a creature known as The Beast. Yikes!
Yes, there is a twist (and it’s a cracker), but it’s
James McAvoy’s incredible performance that
you’ll be talking about afterwards. He is simply
sensational – and unbelievably creepy.
