As soon as they found Scarecrow they were off to the Emerald City! MUST-SEE OF THE MONTH Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TBC Rebels plot to steal the Death Star plans – but the odds are stacked against them! DIRECTOR Gareth Edwards STARRING Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn How do you honour a franchise that means so much to so many, and yet at the same time move it forward? That was the challenge facing Gareth Edwards when he agreed to take the helm of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Thankfully, the Monsters director has risen to his task with aplomb, producing a film that’s both tremendously entertaining and gut-wrenchingly dramatic. With the evil Galactic Empire increasing its stranglehold on the galaxy, the Rebel Alliance recruits a rag-tag team of spies that includes Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso and Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera (a name fans will recognise from The Clone Wars animated series) to steal the plans to the first Death Star. Standing in their way is Ben Mendelsohn’s chilling Orson Krennic, the director of advanced weapons research for the Imperial Military. Uh-oh! With some flawed-but-fantastic new heroes to cheer on, and the kind of jaw-dropping special effects that we’ve come to expect from this series, Star Wars fans can breathe easy – the Force is strong with this one! 15 DEC Did You ? n Knofirw st live-actio is the scored Rogue One m not to be Star Wars fil ms.
