Everything ‘isn’t’ awesome for Emmet

Back in 2014, The Lego Movie took
a Scandinavian construction toy,
added a slug of anarchic humour, and
turned it into cinema gold. Now, after ducking
out for Batman and Ninjago spin-offs, the Lego
franchise comes full-circle with an intergalactic
romp that reunites the brilliant original vocal cast.
As you’ll remember, the first Lego Movie
ended with the terrifying events of TAKOS
Tuesday and the invasion of an evil day-glo
Duplo army. Now, the cunningly titled Second
Part picks up the thread, plunging us into
a dusty apocalyptic wasteland that makes
Tatooine look like the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The plot thickens when space voyager Sweet
Mayhem kidnaps Wyldstyle, along with Batman,
Benny, MetalBeard and the passive-aggressive
Princess Unikitty. It’s down to Emmet to save
the day – with a little help from an all-new Chris
Pratt-voiced character, Rex Dangervest. Throw in
voice cameos from Channing Tatum as Superman,
Jonah Hill as Green Lantern – plus a Lego Movie
debut for Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn –
and this is the sequel you’ve been waiting for.
