T his year , the Dispute Resolution Section ’ s calendar of events promises not to disappoint and has been creatively planned with something valuable in mind for everyone . As Dispute Resolution Section Chair Senior Judge Gail S . Tusan explained , “ Our theme this year is : Creating and Collaborating : Opportunities for Inclusion and Strategies for Dispute Resolution . All of us benefit from sharing perspectives , and hearing and learning from each other . Attorneys who use mediation and arbitration to resolve their client ’ s cases and disputes are especially welcome to join our section and are encouraged to attend our events .” The DRS Board met throughout the summer to curate the perfect blend of networking events and CLE programs to fulfill their mission of growing the Section ’ s active membership of attorneys and neutrals . Dispute Resolution Section invites anyone and everyone interested in growing , sustaining , or launching their dispute resolution practices to check out their planned activities . DRS Section Board includes law firm partners and principals , solo practitioners neutrals affiliated with Alternative Dispute Resolution firms as well as independent mediators and arbitrators , and administrative law judges .
September was a busy month for DRS as it kicked things off with a virtual meeting featuring Attorney Louis Cohan , who graciously shared his expertise speaking about some timely ethical issues which often arise during mediations . DRS members headed to Westside Park to participate in the 26th Annual Legal Runaround . Members Dan Gulden and Doug Whitten both placed first in their age category this year . Later in the month , DRS members joined the Labor & Employment Section for a fun mixer at Biggerstaff Brewing in the Historic Fourth Ward . Members enjoyed networking with colleagues and making valuable new contacts .
