Roosevelt Park

Roosevelt Park, located at 2200 Grove Street, was purchased by the Glenview Park District in 1932 and was the Park District’ s third park, which would later include the Park District’ s first pool. The park is named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt and was developed as part of Roosevelt’ s Works Progress Administration( WPA). During the Great Depression, this New Deal agency led to the creation of numerous public works projects, including the development of our town’ s beloved park, providing much-needed employment, and fostering community resilience.
Once developed, the park features included tennis courts, softball fields, a lighted semi-pro baseball field, shuffleboard courts, Glenview’ s first outdoor swimming pool, and the Roosevelt Community Building, which served as the administrative offices for the Park District and a site for numerous programs for adults and children. Park Board meetings were also held at the Community Building until

The new structures include age-appropriate slides and climbing opportunities, roofs for shade and rubber surfacing underneath.
