On September 27 we had a conference by a maker who explained the importance
maker space and how to be a maker. Ana told us that being a maker is not just
inventing and having a work area but copying and sharing ideas to build, create
and reuse in a collaborative way adopting the “maker culture”, because the
technology we do, it is not done alone, but in teams.
The activity that we participated in teams of five for which they gave
us a marshmallow, a string, ribbon and spaghetti sticks. The
challenge was to make the highest stable column using all the
materials in a time of 20 minutes and the highest tower
would be the winner.
The activity was recreational as each of the
members exchanged opinions and worked as a
team taking the challenge, each team used
different bases, and others copied
structures from others to then modify
and put different ideas. It was very
fun overall.
