Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Treats
Ingredients
Be careful to check your brand of peanut butter to make sure it doesn ' t contain xylitol, which is poisonous for dogs!
• 2 1 / 2 cups whole wheat flour
• 2 eggs
• 1 / 2 cup canned pumpkin
• 2 Tbsp. peanut butter
• 1 / 2 tsp. salt
• 1 / 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Instructions:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
3) Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff.
4) Roll the dough into a 1 / 2 inch thick roll. Cut into 1 / 2 inch pieces.
5) Bake in preheated oven until hard, about 40 minutes.
6) Cookies stay fresh about 3 days in an airtight container, provided they are completely hard and dry; 1 week in the refrigerator. * Makes 25 treats.
