☐ Lower the thermostat a few degrees when you ' re sleeping, at work, or away from home. Better yet, get a smart thermostat that you can program to do that automatically.
☐ Seal drafts around doors and windows with weatherstripping or caulk.
☐ Close curtains at night to keep heat in.
☐ Change or clean furnace filters regularly so your heating system doesn ' t have to work as hard.
☐ Keep vents and radiators clear of furniture, curtains, and other objects that block warm air.
☐ Close doors to unused rooms and avoid heating areas of the house that don ' t need to be warm.
☐ Have your heating system serviced before the coldest weather arrives to keep it running efficiently.
