The 64th India International Garment Fair (IIGF) Autumn/Winter 2020–21 Collections, jointly Organised
by The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), AEMA, and GEAR will be held from January
20 to 22, 2020 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
A Detailed Circular pertaining to the Fair has been sent to the Exporter Members of the Association
and the same has also been Uploaded on the Website of the Association: www.cmai.in.

REPRESENTATIONS & CIRCULARS
We have made a Representation to Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises, Govt. of India, on September 6, 2019 regarding the hurdles being faced in the MSME
Sector and Intervention Required for Growth of MSME Units. We have also made a Representation
to Smt. Zubin Irani, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, on September 10, 2019 requesting the Minister
to revert to our original plea of Removing Garments altogether from the ambit of Legal Metrology
(Packaged Commodities) Act in view of the ongoing harassment at the Ground Level by the concerned
Authorities. We have sent a Note to Smt. Aditi Rout, Trade Advisor, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India,
on September 23, 2019 on Used Clothing (Worn Clothing & Mutilated Clothing) along with all the
previous correspondence on the same sent by the Associations to the Ministry of Textiles and the
Recommendations.
We have made Two Representations to Smt. Shefali Shah, Addl. Secretary, Ministry of Consumer
Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi, on September 26, 2019 and September 27, 2019 on the applicability
of the Packaged Commodity Act on Garments sold in a Loose Form and the harassment faced by
the Clothing Industry as a result of the misinterpretation of the Rules and Notifications of the Act. The
Association has urged the Consumer Affairs Ministry to give guidance on how to proceed in getting
Readymade Garments Removed from the Ambit of Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Act.

We have sent Cir. No. 64th IIGF/12/19 by E-mail to all Members of the
Association, informing that the 64th India International Garment Fair will be
held from January 20 to 22, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
We have sent Cir. No. 70th NGF/13/10 by E-mail to all Members of the
Association, informing that the 70th National Garment Fair will be held on
January 29 and 30, 2020 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NSE Complex,
Goregaon (East), Mumbai 400 063.
We have sent Cir. No T-11/14/19 by E-mail to all Members in Mumbai and
Maharashtra, informing that the Govt. of Maharashtra vide Notification No:
FAC -2019/C R 157/LAB–4, dated September 19, 2019 has amended the
Maharashtra Factories (Amendment) Rules 1963 by amending Rule 45. The
Copy of the said Notification also forwarded therewith.
