Rulebook: Annie Mickelson
Absent. Annie emailed the board about increasing the cost of mailing rulebooks, but this was already agreed upon by the board last year. The cost for mailing rulebooks is $ 10.
Safety Committee: Corey Swartout Absent. Nothing to report.
Scholarship: Julie Gintner
There were 15 scholarship applicants. The committee is seeking board approval for 3 scholarships to be awarded at $ 1250 each.
A motion was made by Lori Taylor, seconded by Julia Northwick, to approve three $ 1,250 scholarships. Motion carried unanimously.
WSCF also plans to award a scholarship. Stalls: Tim Wamplfer
Absent. Nothing to report.
Old Business:-Pony Classes- The wording for how to clarify wording in Rulebook for pony classes was discussed. For clarity, the language should match that of what is used for Champ Show.
New Business:
A motion was made by Lori Taylor, seconded by Darcy Berget, that the wording should be added to rulebook to clarify Pony Classes, matching the Champ Show statement that Riders must ride in their appropriate age class according to pony size. Motion carried unanimously.
-Exhibition Classes- The proposed wording for Exhibition classes is that Exhibitions are to be ran after a horses qualifying run. The board decided to revisit this in the future.
-Severe Weather Guidelines- The board member discussed creating guidelines or putting together resources for clubs to refer to when it comes to severe weather conditions that come up during shows.
-Pop-Up Shows- Are“ Pop-Up Shows” allowed to be qualifying shows? All shows hosted by WSCA Clubs are to follow the rules of having an approved WSCA judge and posting to On-Deck at least 7 days prior to the show.
-Dan Dolan shared that this year is his last year announcing at Minnesota State fair, after 30 years.
With no further new business, a motion was made by James Duenow, seconded by Julie Gintner to adjourn the August 5, 2026 Board of Directors meeting at 8:40 pm. Motion passed unanimously.
