I gone but not forgotten

With heavy hearts , the entire team at Ciao ! extends condolences and prayers to the Mehra family on the sudden passing of Kamal Mehra . Mr . Mehra was the founder of East India Company Pub & Eatery , and shared our passion for food , business , Winnipeg , and tourism . His life had an impact on all of these things , and he will be deeply missed . He brought the rich flavours of the East to the Canadian prairies , transforming dining in this city and challenging the limits of regional cuisine . If not for Kamal Mehra , the opulent Indian buffet would not be the treasured part of our local culinary experience it is today .
