I bonjour, mon ami
The Esplanade Riel bridge is once again ready for diners looking for a sweeping view of the Red with their meal. The eagerly anticipated new tenant, Mon Ami Louis, is helmed by chef Luc Jean( leaving his RRC post at Jane ' s), and is staying true to its St. Boniface location with a menu of decadent, rustic French fare. Alsatian-style flatbreads with crisp crusts and pommes frîtes fried in rich duck fat are sure to draw ooh la la ' s. The restaurant will be open until the end of September and will be on call for private functions and events throughout the winter months. 50 Provencher Blvd, 204-942-1090.— JK
