NEWS Pledge for success during Occupational Therapy Week RCOT is calling on members during Occupational Therapy Week to join the hundreds of occupational therapists making a pledge for the future. To be held from 5 to 11 November, on the theme of ‘Securing the future of occupational therapy’, pledges have already been made by members to build their continuing professional development, support students, and target local service commissioners. Other pledges have seen members aim to engage more with RCOT’s regional work, get more involved in research, and champion occupational therapy everywhere from community services to specialist NHS services. The Royal College will provide a range of physical and digital resources to help members deliver and promote their pledges, and they will be shared on RCOT’s social media channels and with the hashtag #OTWeek2018. Julia Scott, RCOT chief executive said: ‘This Occupational Therapy Week I’m pledging to encourage members to future proof the profession by delivering occupational therapy services in new and innovative ways, by grasping opportunities, being bold and taking the occasional risk, and I urge all our members to consider making their pledges along the same lines. It’s a great way to celebrate our hard work this Occupational Therapy Week.’ For more information and to access the dedicated resources, please visit: www.rcot.co.uk/otweek.
