NEWS IN BRIEF
ENGLAND NHS STAFF FEEDBACK
PLATFORM LAUNCHED
Matt Hancock, the health secretary, has launched a new
platform for staff feedback on issues including workplace
issues, safety and training. The results from Talk Health
and Care will be fed into the long-term plan for the NHS
and the social care green paper. Unison has warned that
the platform is not a substitute for raising issues such as
concerns on staffing levels or bullying. The platform is
online at: https://dhscworkforce.crowdicity.com.
HIGHER STARTING PAY IN
NEW WALES PAY DEAL
A new pay deal in Wales will see pay bands restructured
to include higher starting pay, the removal of overlapping
pay points and shorter pay scales. The three-year deal will
result in pay parity with staff in England and was accepted
by 92 per cent of UNISON Cymru Wales members. The
union welcomed the result on pay but said there was more
work to do on terms and conditions of employment.
