The Royal College of Occupational Therapists is looking to recruit a dynamic occupational therapist, keen to provide an essential service at the forefront of our profession. As a member of the Professional Practice Team, the successful candidate will represent the Royal College across all 4 UK countries. Using your understanding of professional practice and RCOT Standards and Code of Ethics the Professional Adviser will apply and communicate guiding principles for best practice within the occupational therapy profession. To succeed in this role you will need to:- • be an effective communicator. You will liaise with volunteers within the Specialist Sections, RCOT wider membership, other professional body representatives, national commercial and voluntary organisations, using your skills to support, influence and inform. • have excellent presentation and written skills with the ability to translate and communicate complex information to a wide and varying audience. • be confident in dealing with professional enquiries advising on complex situations over the telephone, adjusting your language and level of detail depending on the audience. • have excellent time management and project management skills prioritising when and where to use your time to maximise impact. • be self-motivated, with energy and enthusiasm. You will support and motivate volunteer members, responding quickly to events and most importantly enjoying balancing a variety of demands on your time. The post holder will:- • promote RCOT membership and the value of Specialist Sections. • monitor, advise and guide governance of the Specialist Sections. • provide comprehensive enquiry service support to RCOT Members, members of the public, relevant external organisations, service users and their carers and committees/boards within the Royal College of Occupational Therapists in all aspects of professional practice. • offer professional advice and assistance to occupational therapists who are RCOT members, to enable them to achieve safe, effective and ethical practice in occupational therapy.
