We are looking for a committed Occupational Therapist with experience in assessing and treating children with specific learning difficulties, including DCD and dyspraxia. You will work as part of a transdisciplinary team of specialist teachers, speech and language therapists and educational psychologists. You will be required to carry out a range of standardised assessments and clinical observations, complete clinical reports, keep progress notes up to date and contribute to parent conferences. Treatment will include one to one, small groups and class-based sessions working on developing gross and fine motor skills, handwriting, classroom tool use and keyboarding. You will provide consultation and advice to teachers in relation to sensory diets and environmental adaptations. Experience of training and supervising junior OT staff would be an advantage. You will be part of the specialist teaching team supporting the development of literacy and numeracy, you will contribute to IEP setting and the Annual Review processes. Training and/or experience in using Sensory Integration principals and/or CO-OP approach is essential. School experience is desirable.
