REHABILITATION FEATURE
Exceeding expectation
during COVID-19
Following the sudden redeployment
of staff into acute services, due
to COVID-19, Nicola Matheson
and Laura Willis explain how their
community neurological rehabilitation
team has maintained essential
services for their vulnerable patients
Part of the response to tackling the COVID-19 crisis has
involved the redeployment of staff into acute services,
resulting in measures to run the Community Neurological
Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) on less than half staff capacity.
All but one of these staff were identified as vulnerable and advised
to shield by working from home, leaving only one occupational
therapist available to go out into the community for our essential
home visits.
