Planning Your Campus Rising
Form a Planning Committee
Reach out to groups focused on gender studies , social justice , arts , the environment / climate change , and cultural student groups to see who might be interested in organizing and / or participating in a Rising .
Define Your Goals
Are there issue areas that are particularly important to you on your campus , nationally and / or internationally ? Are you raising awareness , fostering solidarity , providing support , or all of the above ?
Checklist for Event Planning : n Venue reservation n Permits ( if required )
n Equipment rental ( sound system , stage , etc .)
n Promotional materials n Volunteer coordination n Accessibility arrangements
Decide How You Want to Rise
Risings often incorporate the arts , so check out our list of possible ways you can incorporate theater , music , dance , video and more into your Rising .
Select a Date and Venue
Choose a date that aligns with the One Billion Rising campaign ( February through April ). Secure a venue that is accessible and can accommodate your expected audience .
